BladesofAthena

The Blades of Athena are a pair of curved short swords seared the the forearms of Kratos, the main protagonist of the God of War series.

HistoryEdit

After the Blades of Chaos were ripped off Kratos's forearms, Athena blessed him with an almost identical pair of melee weapons when he became the second god of war. After the other gods of Olympus, specifically Zeus, betrayed Kratos and attempted to kill him, he took the Blades of Athena and used them to fight through the soldiers of Olympus. However, he was betrayed yet again by the Titans as they casted him into the depts of the Underworld. After rising out of the River of Styx, Athena gifted Kratos another pair of swords called the Blades of Exile, as the fall from Olympus to the Underworld broke the original ones.

FeaturesEdit

The blades were apparently identical to the Blades of Chaos, minus their indestuctibility (however, the blades are still extremely durable) and being imbedded into Kratos's arms. As a god, Kratos's new blades were infested with yellow/blue fire that caused extra damage. In God of War III, Kratos could use the Blades of Athena to perform a magical supermove called Divine Reckoning. However, the movie doesn't involve the Blades as Kratos stabs the Blade of Olympus into the ground, spawning a destructive tornado.

TriviaEdit

  • Kratos uses these blades in his guest appearance in Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny.
